Big adventures start here
2nd Driffield Scout Group has been part of the community for more than eight decades. Today, our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts enjoy an inclusive programme packed with games, outdoor activities, camps, community projects and new experiences.
Our volunteers help young people develop teamwork, independence, resilience and practical life skills in a friendly and supportive environment. Activities vary from week to week, and meetings sometimes take place away from the Scout Hut.

Each section has its own programme, meeting night and age range, with young people progressing through the group as they grow.
Beavers
Build confidence through games, crafts, nature, stories and shared adventures.
Mondays
6pm to 7.15pm
Cubs
Take on new challenges, learn skills, earn badges and enjoy camps and activities.
Thursdays
6.30pm to 8pm
Scouts
Develop leadership, resilience and independence through bigger adventures.

More than a weekly meeting
Scouting gives young people opportunities to try things they may never otherwise experience, from camping and hiking to practical skills, teamwork, visits and community projects.

Volunteer with us
You do not need to have been a Scout or know everything before you start. Whether you can help regularly, occasionally, with activities or behind the scenes, there are flexible ways to support our young people.
A flexible local venue
Hire our Scout Hut
Our Scout Hut is available to the wider community for meetings, clubs, training, classes, children’s birthday parties and other suitable activities. Scout and Guide groups can also hire it for daytime use and overnight accommodation.
Income from bookings helps us maintain the building and provide equipment and opportunities for local young people.

Main hall
Flexible open space for approximately 50 people during daytime use, with tables and chairs available.
Refreshment kitchen
Small kitchen area with a sink, fridge and freezer, suitable for preparing drinks and snacks. It is not a full cooking kitchen.
Toilets
Two toilets, each with a wash basin, are available within the building.
Projector and screen
Available as an optional extra for meetings, presentations, training and suitable events.
Affordable rates
Separate rates are available for community users, private bookings and local charities or voluntary groups.
Suitable uses
Meetings, clubs, classes, training, children’s parties, family gatherings and other appropriate low-key activities.
Please note:
all bookings are subject to availability, suitability and the Group’s booking conditions. The small kitchen is for drinks and snacks only. Overnight accommodation, leader tents and cooking equipment are restricted to eligible Scout and Guide residential bookings.
Scout and Guide groups
Day visits and overnight stays
Recognised Scout and Guide groups can use the hut as a base for local activities or book overnight accommodation. The main hall can accommodate approximately 20 to 30 people sleeping on the floor.

A practical indoor base for activities, visits, training and local events.
Leader tents
Pop-up tents can be hired to support separate sleeping arrangements for adult volunteers.
Cooking equipment
A double gas stove, pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery for up to 30 people can be hired.
